With our heart rate monitor integrated workouts, your body will burn more calories in a shorter amount of time.
Tracking your heart rate with a heart rate monitor tells you precisely how hard or easy your heart is working, and how your heart rate is affected by doing exercise during your class by glancing at the TV screen to see what zone you are at. This challenges you to either increase, maintain or back off intensity.
By monitoring your intensity, you can optimize the effectiveness of your training session and accomplish more in a shorter amount of time. Immediately after your workout, you’ll receive your results in a graph form on your phone app, giving you individualized progress report of your boot camp class.
The scientific term for our metabolic training method is Excessive Post Oxidative Consumption (EPOC). When you do a regular (light to moderate) workout, your oxygen consumption is moderate. You burn some calories during the workout, but within a few hours after you stop exercising, you stop burning any additional calories. (EPOC trails off sharply).
On the other hand, if you do our intense circuit-training workout, your oxygen consumption is taken to the maximum level (VO2 Max) and your body experiences much higher oxygen consumption and burns a lot more calories in a shorter amount of time. (EPOC trails off slowly) That higher burn rate lasts up to 24-37 hours after the workout.
When you work out with us on Monday, you get an elevated metabolic rate that lasts through Tuesday. That means you’re still burning extra calories, and losing additional weight- even after you stop exercising.
Ordinary training programs don’t push you to that VO2 max level. You need the feedback from your heart rate monitor, you need the ‘group effect’ and a great trainer to motivate you to work at this higher level. This is by far the most efficient and effective way to reach your goals.
